Couldn’t help thinking of movies that skirt the issue of forbidden relationships by making it untrue, so you still have the forbidden love tensions but the censors are happy. For example, in THE MAJOR AND THE MINOR the guy is falling for an underage girl not knowing she is actually in disguise. And in CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT the guy falls for a married woman who actually never got around to getting married. The audience knows the truth but the character doesn’t
