I hope I'm not straying off topic, but I want to add some makeup transformations because it's one thing to take five minutes for a haircut, but it's another thing to sit in a makeup chair every day for 3 hours to get some full body prosthetics, the way Lon Chaney did all the time:
Christopher Lee's mummy makeup was so elaborate and uncomfortable, he never played the Mummy again
Both MASK and THE ELEPHANT MAN show extreme deformity (John Hurt's took 7-8 hours!)
The PLANET OF THE APES makeup took over two hours every time

Agnes Moorehead spent hours each day being made up to play a 105 year old woman in THE LOST MOMENT:
