Actress Susan Peters was crippled in real life, because of a shooting accident, in the mid-40s. This would have been a good film for her to remake, since she remained in a wheelchair the rest of her life.

I like how many of these old movies have their ending at Christmas time. It makes it all even more romantic. Yes, adds to the story's sentimental value.

Wishing will make it so. Just keep on wishing And care will go. Dreamers tell us dreams come true It's no mistake And wishes are the dreams we dream When we're awake The curtain of night will part If you're certain within your heart So if you wish long enough, wish strong enough You will come to know Wishing will make it so.

With close-ups and medium shots...and using a stand-in/double for the long shots.
Suzann Ball had bone cancer and lost a leg...and they had to do these things when they filmed her in CHIEF CRAZY HORSE (1955).

Andrea, you are spot one, Boyer is really showing range in this one, especially in this scene in her room.

Yeah, I think Boyer deserved an Oscar nomination for this one.
He is also very good in HISTORY IS MADE AT NIGHT and THE CONSTANT NYMPH (another one that would be good to do live on Sunday).

This one would be great to see on a big screen.

I looked all over for The Constant Nymph yesterday after it was mentioned on the Just watched thread and couldn't find it. I'm curious about that one!

What a fast 87 minutes. I always want more...I always want them to show us how she is able to walk again...and to see them married. But it really is a sweet ending.
