Each week I am going to post intros and wrap-ups that can be found on Yancey Cravat's YouTube page. Maybe you prefer one version over another? Maybe you like both versions? Maybe there's another version not included here that you prefer instead?
I am going to kick things off with Robert Osborne's wraparounds for IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT that were broadcast on TCM on June 2, 2009...

Wraparounds for the remake YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY FROM IT, broadcast on TCM when June Allyson was Star of the Month in 2015.

Thanks for posting these, TopBilled. Osborne 's intros were always so inviting. If you tuned in and there was a movie I hadn't heard of or hadn't seen, his intro would make me want to give it a try.
I'm not one of those who bemoan the current rosters of hosts. I don't have a problem with them, though some I like more than others. You can 't copy Osborne. I wonder if TCM has ever considered running some of the old Osborne intros, say on his birthday. Probably not. You can't go home again.

I second the motion that TCM should rerun some of Osborne's intros. At 31 days of Oscar or Summer Under the Stars would be a nice touch. I'd also like to see Osborne's interviews rerun occasionally

All credit goes to Yancey Cravat who has done an amazing job posting these on YouTube...and each day he continues to add more of them to his channel.
I reached out to Yancey in January and said I wanted to spotlight remakes and I asked if he had wraparounds for these films.
I decided to start with ones featuring Robert Osborne, because I agree with you that his comments were often so inviting, so warm and friendly, that it made you want to watch the film that followed.

I'd also like to see Osborne's interviews rerun occasionally I wonder if they'd have to pay his estate if they showed his interviews again, some sort of residual fee. But yes, it would be nice to see the Private Screenings broadcast again.

I second the motion that TCM should rerun some of Osborne's intros. At 31 days of Oscar or Summer Under the Stars would be a nice touch. I'd also like to see Osborne's interviews rerun occasionally From time to time TCM has rerun RO's Intros. It would seem to me that TCM owns these outright and could broadcast them at anytime. I've mentioned to some of the powers that be they should rerun them during the wee hours. No one ever mentioned residuals.
Personally my impression, based on nothing, they would like to move on. After all it's not the Robert Osborne channel. Though, also my two cents, Robert Osborne was so loved by viewers his presence hangs over the hosts as if to say, you'll never be as loved or as good so don't even try.
As far as RO's Private Screenings are concerned I believe some might have rights issues with clips shown. As I have mentioned before Rod Steiger's interview has likely never been repeated. Many of the others were. They certainly are precious time capsules.
