I have a question on this topic and I'm generally curious about others' views: How do you resolve men and women playing sports? Should an individual born a male at birth but who now identifies as a female, be permitted to play with females, even though men are born with a different physiological makeup that provides them with certain physical advantages such as making them bigger and stronger?
For the most part, the idea that people can truly feel different than the sex they were born as, has been accepted. Every poll indicates that the majority of individuals in western democracies accept this.
However, when it comes to transgenderism and sports, it's not so clear cut. By about a 2 to 1 margin, polls indicate that the public believes that individuals should only participate in sports that correspond with their birth sex.

Will young women lose scholarships and places on teams because of transgender teammates who might not have made it on the men's teams? Doesn't seem fair.

tough question. Used to make the news in the 60's that USSR and East Germany had female athletes at the Olympics who were male. There was testing at Olympics to determine gender. I don't recall news stories detailing what test was done or how men were transitioned to female. A subject too delicate to speak of at the time-after all same sex relations were not allowed to be mentioned then. I'm not informed enough so my opinion is not in stone, and even I think I sound biased, but a man transitioned to a woman-physically she may have an unfair (?) advantage.
