TCM is so bad with uploading content which shows on their channel to their social media platforms. I have been trying to find a video of the clever and amusing commercial they have currently on the channel promoting their classic films tour at the Warner Brothers Studio and features all 5 of the channel's hosts. Does anyone know who the cute guy is in the security car who "races" Ben in a spoof of the car race scene from REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE? I'm just curious, because usually TCM only features their staff in their commercials. I was just wondering if he is a TCM staff member, a real WB Studios Tour staff member, or simply an actor.

(Sorry, I don't recognize him either. Hope this helps.)

Yes, thanks cmovieviewer!! It's not really important, but every time I see the commercial, I wonder if he is associated with TCM or the Warner Bros Studio Tours or just an actor.
Anyway, it's a fun commercial!

I agree with Sagebrush that TCM web page is useless: no mention that Robert Osborne intros will play April 14 AND incredibly no mention of TCM is 30 years on the air this month!!! I checked the WBD.com site and no mention there-too busy touting periods of highest ratings for other programming. How bizarre to spent the bucks to make the new promo shown above and the new TCM short for 30 years. Can updating a web page be harder, more expensive than the promos for broadcast?
Re: the mystery actor, when I first saw the promo, he looks familiar. I saw him or someone similar recently also wearing that jacket looking like for winter-did I see him play a cop or ranger recently. Hopefully this is a moment I need to stop thinking about it and the answer will pop into my head.

Mystery solved!! Per #Save TCM Party on Twitter and reposted by mr6667 (ziggy6708a on Silver Screen Oasis), the man in question is in fact a WB security guard!

Good to know others thought him familiar. Wonder if he was in other promos but not prominently shown? Thanks for the answer, Sagebrush!!

Just announced that WB head got a 27% pay increase last year, making his pay almost 50 mil. Interesting- ATT split out shares to WBD, which is how I got some WBD shares. Since that time the shares value is down 66%!! Goes to show, the stockholders aren't getting the benefit of Zaslav's brilliant leadership. (That was sarcasm)
Is anybody really worth 50 mil? The film EXECUTIVE SUITE is a fairy tale.

Annual meeting time for WBD.
A-ha-ha-ha!! I've got the execs quaking in their handcrafted shoes. I voted my 17 shares against their proposed exec pay plan. I know: they could care less how I vote my shares. But I did have momentary satisfaction.
Interesting shareholder proposals: detailed filing of statistics concerning significant viewership decreases under the current leadership. WBD, repeat those reasons Zaslav got that raise?
Some of those nimrods in charge seem to think "pay exec more = more profit." Under the thread about the TCM festival, complaint about passes not guaranteeing admittance to the events. With a little thought you can figure out where the revenue from the passes went.

I'm curious about the MAX promos on TCM. At the end is "the place to watch TCM." The MAX website doesn't mention TCM. Will there be an advantage for TCM to no longer stream on platforms like YOUTUBE TV and for TCM to be available only with MAX?

I'm curious about the MAX promos on TCM. At the end is "the place to watch TCM." The MAX website doesn't mention TCM. Will there be an advantage for TCM to no longer stream on platforms like YOUTUBE TV and for TCM to be available only with MAX? I think this is mostly just marketing. If you scroll down on MAX, there is a 'Brand Spotlight' row where there is a tile for TCM. (Currently it is labeled "TCM 30 Anniversary".) This takes you to the 'classic' films that MAX has been associating with TCM since the streaming service started.
Long term is the big question. I know many of us would like a stand-alone TCM streaming service that people could pay for to reduce their cable bills, but WBD seems to have put all their eggs in the MAX basket for now. As long as TCM is a cable channel, I would think that WBD will continue to make it available to the streaming services like YouTube TV that provide the equivalent of a cable bundle. It's just more money coming in for them, something they desperately need right now.
