Ok, let's get things started on this section of the boards.
A while back, I created a thread at the other place that started out "It's Pizza Night and 'The Big Country' is on TCM!" I had hoped to talk about the movie some, but a few people were understandably fascinated about the pizza part of the evening. Turned out that people have all kinds of favorite food or snacks or treats that they will reserve for watching old movies.
So I'm curious now. What all do you folks like to pair (or "curate?!") with your movie tastes? What adds to the pleasure we take from an hour or two sitting back and watching a great story?

I like to match food, particularly finger food, and movie locale or topic.
Recent examples:
taquitos - Latin (Down Argentine Way) mozzarella sticks with spaghetti sauce dip - Italian (Moonstruck) eggrolls - Asian (The King & I) french fries - French (Funny Face) chips & fish - British (The Man Who Never Was) (garden grown) cherry tomatoes & peppers - Western (The Magnificent Seven)

Boy, Diane, looks like you've got all the bases covered. Quite an impressive assortment. Maybe if enough people respond, we should put together an ex-pat TCM cookbook.
Oh, and for "Down Argentine Way," don't forget lots of cherries to put in the brandy cocktails!

Wow, I think Dianedebuda wins the thread. Impressive! I'm not that ambitious. My go to is popcorn, made on the stove with oil and corn kernels. Drizzle some melted butter and sprinkle with salt. Sometimes I'll have some chocolate with it too. Sweet and salty. (The spaghetti and pizza mentioned above sounds good too.)

I don't necessarily eat when I watch movies, though on occasion I'll watch a movie during dinner. This week, taking a break whilst getting ready for Christmas, I've actually found it convenient to throw a Trader Joe's Margarita pizza into the oven, after doctoring it up a bit. It's quite good, and convenient.
I miss the movie theater candy of my youth, particularly the little Turkish taffies. I'm afraid if I had them now, assuming they still existed, they might pull a few crowns out!
