...specifically, Native American ones of film... T CM's screening of A WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE (1974) this past Monday evening yielded an interesting actor drop for me. I sat there thinking I should know who played Billy Tidrow, the character whom Gena Rowland's lead embarrasses over his striking cheekbones, and sure enough: Leon Wagner - the once celebrated baseball player!! It turned out that "Daddy Wags" had been part Cherokee, and this was not the only pair of Indigenous-related cheekbones which factored in my T CM viewing in recent weeks. There previously was Delle Bolton's seen in "Jeremiah Johnson"... "Tell her, tell her she's lovely." "Tell her, she knows how to suffer."
