A few nights ago I watched an episode of The F.B.I. For those who've seen any Quinn Martin produced crime show, you know the opening credits feature images of the main stars and guest stars with an announcer speaking their names (the names are not printed on screen).
The episode I watched had guest star Paul Lukas in a special role. But the announcer did not pronounce it as Paul LUCAS (which is how I thought it was said)...he instead said Paul LOO-KOSS, with the emphasis on the second syllable.
On another QM crime drama, Cannon with William Conrad, Sheree North was a guest star. I always thought her first name was pronounced like Mon Cherie. But the announcer schooled me once again and said it is pronounced SHARE-EE North (like cooking sherry).
Live and learn!

I learned from Noir Alley that Faith Domergue is pronounced Faith Dome-airg.
Or was it Faith Domm-airg? I forget now. But there's definitely no gyoo at the end.

I also pronounced Paul Lukas wrong!
I never knew how to pronounce Franchot Tone until Robert Osbourne did it for me one day. I always put an accent mark at the end, but Bon pronounced it like the word “tone”. Live and learn!
