As per usual, I shan't start as I mean to go on. I've always longed for a vibes thread. Sting wrapping up 5 sold out nights here has had me pondering him. My lost Police love. And of course vibes.
There is another fabulous version of this, with the, errr....um...the strange people puppets. I love this one because the boys are in the audience watching themselves.

Fabulous NS. I managed to find a super fuzzy performance video of it.

Godley & Creme - Englishman in New York (1980) Obviously too obvious a response here, galacticgirrrl, but it does meet both criteria as subject and "overdubbed vibraphones" as well:

Another question. Does it have to be good?

Another question. Does it have to be good? Laughing, I Love Melvin!! I was disappointed to not find Debra Paget behind me when I turned around.

I promise: No more vibraphones if I can avoid them.

Do we have room for Big John Wayne on xylophone?

BunnyWhit, this is one of those "Wish I'd come up with that!" ones.

Do we have room for Big John Wayne on xylophone? ^ Sorry for letting the vibraphone/xylophone beast out, galacticgirrrl!

Sorry if I misinterpreted. I'll try again. One of my favorites of his songs.

The more misinterpretations the better as far as I'm concerned. What can be truly gained colouring within the lines?
[Although one must be careful: last night Queen Mab sent a G&C pink glove-ed mannequin to me in my dreams nightmares as punishment]
Barely any vibes in the one below, like waving a vermouth bottle over a martini to keep it extra dry. I was tempted to post the Beat Club version to the Saturday Morning Cartoon area: Klaus's Vox bass in that one looks like something a banana split would play. Of course it turns out to be a custom one off Vootar he designed and had made. Sigh.
