I was wondering if TCM was going to schedule a night of movies to remember Donald Sutherland. He had along career and I believe TCM has access to many of his movies. MASH, Klute, Ordinary People, Don't Look Now, Dirty Dozen, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Die! Die! My Darling, are a few that come to mind.
I know TCM has an end of the year tribute, showing different movies of actors/actresses who passed away. For more notable performers, however, they have set aside a night of programming to celebrate that person's career. What are the chances? Does Sutherland deserve a night of programming?

I agree The OG. I've always admired Donald Sutherland. My favorite film is THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE 1981. TCM recently played that - I think last month. Sometime because of scheduling, TCM will play films in remembrance a month later. We might see some on September or October schedule, (hopefully). ๐

I hope that you are right Christine, and that TCM can dedicate a night to a few of his movies.

I hope she gets a day for her films. I especially love her character in CALIFORNIA SUITE. I imagine TCM will dedicate a night to her. I love her in California Suite, too. She and Michael Caine were my favorite storyline in that movie. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, her other Oscar winning role, seems like another likely choice. Thinking of other Smith movies TCM has shown: Evil Under the Sun, Murder by Death, The VIPS, Young Cassidy, Travels with My Aunt, Love and Pain and the Whole Damn Thing, Clash of the Titans, Gosford Park. Have they ever shown Othello (1965)? Funny, with such a long resume all the obits started with "Harry Potter and Downton Abbey" actress Maggie Smith passes away. But I guess that is what most people know her from. She and Alan Rickman both referred to the Harry Potter movies as their retirement plan. I confess, I do like the HP series and have seen them several times.
