Hello all! In the last year, I decided to start keeping track of the music that TCM uses for its monthly promotions and TCM remembers. Great info, thank you umopapisdn .
I love those monthly promotion song-montages and wish TCM did one every month.
Purely unscientific and just from memory, the Leslie Gore song-montage is my favorite as its images and clips play really well with her voice and delivery of a song of powerful individuality.

Nice list umopapisdn! I've kept track of the TCM Remembers year-end salute as well. There is a version from 2000 available on YouTube too. Walter Mathau was the final honoree in that year's tribute. The song used however, isn't familiar to me as it's an instrumental. It may have been a song specially created for the occasion, but I don't know. Also, a fellow on YouTube known as Chuck Amuck has provided a 1995 TCM tribute (Ginger Rogers was the last screen legend shown that year), which he says is the very first one the station did. He was hoping to find years 1996-99, but it's not known if those years exist. Reading some of the comments by people on YouTube (many comments have been deleted as the years have passed), I remember someone asking what happened to years 2001 and 2002. One of the commenters said they had contacted TCM about those years, and apparently, the response they got from the station representative indicated that those two years had too many omissions of prominent people in the film industry and 2001 and 2002 were two tribute years that they weren't especially happy with or proud of.

According to a list someone made on IMDB, the music for the 2001 TCM Remembers is "Dark Spanish Symphony" by Angelo Badalementi. www.imdb.com/list/ls092058638/
I have never actually seen the 2001 and 2002 tributes. The reason midwestan stated in the post above mine (too many omissions) is what I have heard as well. Rosemary Clooney and Guy Stockwell (Dean Stockwell's brother, in case you didn't know him by name) were among the omissions of the 2002 tribute.

TCM Remembers 2022 has just been posted on YouTube. As usual, it's well-done by TCM. I correctly guessed who the final honoree was going to be (I won't spoil it though for those wo haven't seen it.

Am I the only one who feels like a lot of people were missing this year? The following people were absent - Betty White, Bob Saget, Bobby Rydell, Tim Considine, Michael Callan, Andrew Prine, Howard Hesseman, and Sally Kellerman.

I have yet to see TCM Remembers on TCM. Just watched it on YouTube. In the above post, some names are foreign, but that's normal for me. Half of them are pretty obvious omissions. I hope they are errors on the part of TCM and not just being selective. I must say, Betty White, are you kidding me?! I know Bob Saget from TV, along with Dr. Johnny Fever, Howard Hesseman. Bobby Rydell was more a singer than actor. I don't know a lot of Betty White movies, but Wikipedia does. Besides, were talking a goddess to the industry.

Again. The omissions jinsinna mentioned have had notable roles in several movies. And Betty White made appearances and loaned her voice to many good presentations. And if agents and obscure foreign producers can make the TCM REMEMBERS cut, I see nothing wrong with the people on jinsinna's omission list.
