I mentioned recently in another thread that I've been working my way through episodes of The F.B.I. And there are three very unique guest appearances by Charles Korvin from three different seasons of the show. I was surprised by how excellent his acting was in these episodes. By the late 1960s and early 1970s he had "graduated" into a very fine character actor.
Back when he was first making Hollywood movies with Merle Oberon in the 1940s, I think he was sort of typecast in suave continental roles that could have been done (better) by Louis Jourdan. But Korvin went on to have a long and distinguished acting career.
And for culinary folk, he was a very good pal of Julia Child who called him the best amateur chef she ever knew. So a very interesting guy.
