I've seen films with Crawford and Gable, but didn't realize how many films they made together. TCM has been playing maybe 6 today. AND I didn't know Crawford ever danced with Fred Astaire, but there they are in DANCING LADY. With so many films with Crawford and Gable, I'm surprised I don't hear more often about them being a screen duo.

They were certainly a popular duo. I don't think I've ever seen DANCING LADY.
When I think of these two, I usually think of STRANGE CARGO (1940), which was their last pairing.

"Dancing Lady" isn't a great movie, but its cast makes it a heck of an interesting one.
My comments on it from a few years ago are here: "Dancing Lady"
Also, I love this picture of Gable and Crawford from the movie as it's so rare to see stars in this era "dressed down."

Looks like I'm a bigger fan of Dancing Lady than you are. While Gable is slightly miscast, I really like the playful interaction between Crawford and him in this film. I also like that Fred Astaire and the Three Stooges are in the film. The overall plot is basic, but the stars help keep things lively. Nice photo of the two getting a workout.
