Dean Martin's 107th Birthday is Friday, June 7th. Keeping my fingers crossed that the first two TBA slots for that Friday evening will be Dino movies. To further my wish list - I wish TCM would show a couple films not usually played, like ADA 1961, THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER 1965 or AIRPORT 1970. Holding on to my dreams!!!

I'm actually shocked they have a majority of the schedule up for June yet they don't have anyone listed for Star of the Month or any of their movies. I'm assuming to keep in theme with the month, the star will be part of the LGBTQ+ community in some way, shape, or form. I'll have to check back another time to see who they pick I guess.

In a press release a while back TCM said they would be saluting Fox stars some time this year. It is possible that the star of the month will be someone like Tyrone Power, who did almost all of his films for Twentieth Century Fox throughout his career. TCM has not been listing films from studios outside their library when the initial schedule is released, so that might explain why there are no titles listed yet for Star of the Month. Hopefully we will find out more in the next week or so.

In the Now Playing e-mail sent today, TCM has indicated that "Fox Stars" are being featured as the Star of the Month for Tuesdays in June. Specific film titles were listed for June 4 but the rest remain TBA. The schedule documents have been updated accordingly: escapepress.com/tcmsched/tcm_overview.html

This is a good move on their part...hopefully they will do other months down the road for stars under contract at Paramount, Republic and Universal.

Disappointed there's no celebration on Dean's 107th Birthday on the TCM schedule! However, RIO BRAVO 1959 - my favorite Dean Martin film, is listed in June. I will, of course, be celebrating on June 7th on my thread - DEAN MARTIN!

I will, of course, be celebrating on June 7th on my thread - DEAN MARTIN! View Attachment I recall in April of last year when TCM celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Warner Brothers, Rio Bravo was one of the 10 films that Warners had chosen for restoration in honor of the event, so Rio Bravo has never looked better. There is even a 4K version available on blu-ray now for those with the right setup. Warners has really done a better job of restoring and making their titles available than many of the other studios. And eventually these restorations are making their way to TCM were they can be appreciated by a wider audience.
