Please join us Sunday for our continuing story of the Lemp sisters!
"Adam Lemp and his four daughters, Ann, Thea, Kay, and Emma, are in financial and emotional crises. Thea's husband Ben has promoted a Florida housing development to everyone in town, and when a hurricane wipes out the investments of all their friends, the Lemps decide to pay back the losses, even if it costs them their own home."

It sounds like Mr. Lemp is going to have more screen time in this one as his job is in danger so Galacticgirrrl will be pleased!
I'm hoping for more of my two favorite red headed characters:
Danny Jackson and Red.

I'm looking forward to this one as, one, I love the Lemp family and, two, I don't remember having seen it.
To Andrea's redhead comment, our favorite Irish Setter got more screen time in the second movie, but he or she still wasn't listed in the credits. Hopefully he or she has had a hard but necessary conversation with his or her agent about that.
I noticed that they brought in a new director, William Keighley, for this entry in the series in place of Michael Curtiz who directed the first two. It will be interesting to see if there's a different tone or feel to the movie because of that.
Andrea, have you sold your family on the "Daughters" movie with you post-movie supper recap for them? I could see a lot of, "Wait, which one is Thea?," "Kay's married to the plumber, right?" "Who is adopting?" and so on comments from your husband and son as I've seen the movies and still can't keep everyone straight.

You're right to guess it would all be too much for them (and me) so they've just heard related topics like, "Why I love John Garfield's acting so much," and, "Eddie Albert was cute when he was young." Best part is we all three learned what hi-hosey means and my son called hi-hosey on the red velvet cupcake out of the ones I brought home the other day.

The trailer looks really good too, despite what the critics may have said. Sadly I haven't found a copy of this one. Sob. And then I'm at a film festival the next two Sundays. I'm going to sink into severe melodrama withdrawal.
Who knew cute Dr. Clint would have been a cure for that which will ail me!
Interesting pose from Clinton. Claude can't hide his charms. Aunt Etta looks beautiful.

I'm a big fan of Eddie Albert. He was a very versatile actor, without a well-defined screen persona. I find that to be true for many versatile actors. Compare that to Garfield who had a well-defined screen persona. E.g. the man-with-a-chip-on-his-shoulder. Garfield was perfect for such roles.
Albert was signed by Warner Bros. making his film debut with Brother Rat (with Priscilla Lane), going on to the "Four" serial and a follow up with Priscilla in Brother Rat and a Baby. WB didn't renew his contract after Out of the Fog with Ida Lupino and John Garfield.
Albert would have many memorable roles as a supporting actor, and sometimes leading man (behind a top-billed actress) in films such as Smash-Up, The Story of a Woman, Every Girl Should be Married, Carrie, Roman Holiday (where he really shines which says something given Hebburn and Peck), I'll Cry Tomorrow (again with Hayward), The Tea House of the August Moon with Brando, The Sun Also Rises, The Joker is Wild, The Gun Runners (one of his best bad-guy performances showing his versatility), and The Longest Day.
Later he backed up upcoming actors in films like The Heartbreak Kid, and Hustle. Of course, while making movies, he was in many TV shows. (yea, more than just the silly Green Acres).
I assume Albert's versatile keep him on the list of many Hollywood producers.

We will miss you indeed. Who's going to 3D print all the things I want? Have fun at the film festival - any movies in particular you're looking forward to seeing at it?

PSA - Sorry for the late notice, I just noticed that "Four Mothers" is next at 2pm ET on TCM if you want to DVR it for Sunday. I have the worst luck. I missed your great find - off having the winter tires removed. Oh the joys of life in a cold climate...without summer oil.
Looking forward to so many movies this year as it may be the last year of the festival. We handed it off to (gasp!) The Americans to run which has set the dumpster on fire apparently. I on the other hand am in my element. I haven't had this many great movies to pick from in eons.
Of particular interest will be my first big, fully openly AI film. Eno will not be the same movie for any two audiences. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at this development.
And I won't be getting much sleep after Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger. Peeping Tom was playing at my local rep recently but I just couldn't muster my courage to see it again. Now I will be forced to really dive in all the way.
