Here they are doing the same song on the Ed Sullivan show - I'm adding this video just so we can look at Michelle while she sings. She was the most attractive female pop singer of the 60's in my opinion. I couldn't get enough of that fox. She's shyin' away from all that attention you're heapin' on her:

Druggy mysticism was definitely in the air and Tim Buckley was really good at it.

Not sure what the V.I.P. label is all about because this was Motown all the way, with the Motown house band. The Velvelettes were second-stringers at Motown but came up with some good, memorable stuff.

V.I.P. was a sub-label of Motown.

Although Fats was primarily a 50's artist - and this song also had its original pressing in the 1950's by a different artist - Fats' release here was in November of 1961. It peaked at #67 on the hot 100.

Possibly Elmer Bernstein's most famous movie score, Al Caiola charted in the top 100 with this single of the main theme.

With your seeming capital of Capitol records combined with a long history of film, I Love Melvin, would not be surprised if your collection once included or still includes the following: I once thought that Norma Shearer was an homage to the silver screen queen but through the above upload obviously found out otherwise, I Love Melvin.

Thanks, intrepid37: I'd known for a while that there was at least one Norma Shearer/ Capitol 45 out there through just a plain old 'Norma Shearer' search, but the discovery of that upload finally shed light on the musician name.
