The 1956 TEN COMMANDMENTS used to air on TV every Easter when I was a kid. My family always watched it. Even as a kid, I was amazed by the sets, costumes (5 notable costume designers!), and beautiful technicolor.
I remember my mother always making sure we watched the opening credits so we could see just how many actors were in the production. She explained to us that in the silent version, most of the cast were uncredited.
** I wanted to mention that for those who want to watch the 1956 version on TV, ABC will be airing it Saturday, March 30th, at 7pm PT. Of course, there will be many commercial breaks, stretching the running time to 4 hrs 45 min, but if you can't watch another way...
