"Betty Boop's Penthouse" (copyright date 1932, but sources show a March 1933 release date.)

So why exactly was it banned? And how long did it stay banned?

So why exactly was it banned? And how long did it stay banned? I'm not sure. It has the "passed by the board of review" notice so maybe it was a legion of decency thing. One guy on the internet said it was because of her showering, but she's in a swimsuit. Maybe the bloomers on the invisible body. Maybe the implied drug use. I don't know.

Deemed culturally significant by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation by the National Film Registry in 1994, "Betty Boop in Snow-White" was the second of three collaborations between Dave Fleischer and Cab Calloway, who is heard but not seen singing "St. James Infirmary."
