To me she'll always be THE Coco from the 1980 Alan Parker movie, Fame. Mostly known for her vocal performances on the title track to that film and Flashdance (What A Feeling), she was an actor for most of her professional life which began at 8. New York Times obit. She made her debut on David Letterman in October, 1980 (above) just after Fame premiered. A great talent that will be missed. R.I.P.

Oh dear. I just saw that Kirstie Alley died from cancer. The galaxy's sexiest Vulcan and Rebecca Howe from "Cheers": gosh what a legacy.
Sad news.

Terrible news. You should post this in a new memorials thread. I'm sure she has many admirers who would like to express their thoughts.
