"Relax hardboiled and listen."
Nice '40s argot.

Love the shot of Cary upside down cake. It's inspired. Really illustrates how we know she's feeling. I've never seen spiraling Cary Grant the morning after....must not have been doing it right. Me neither. And even with her AWOL hair clump, Ingrid looks pretty good for the morning after the night before.

So she has U.S. citizenship on her mother's side and she really is patriotic. I'm sure the production code office was happy all those details were included!

I love how she still has on the kerchief around her waist. That is an excellent and very realistic touch. Wonder if we have Edith Head to thank for that little bit of business, or if it was Hitchcock, or both?

Ingrid does such a nice job during the airplane scene where Alicia learns her father committed suicide.

Who wouldn't fall in love with Ingrid Bergman in any of her movies?

Quite true, but as they do discuss, if you buy the plot, the US gov't also needed a reason to believe she wouldn't sell out the US or they wouldn't have given her the assignment.

Who wouldn't fall in love with Ingrid Bergman in any of her movies? Funny you should say that. My brother dislikes her. Maybe he is related to the milkman.....

Calhern is so dependably good.
I agree, he always adds something to his characters and the movie. I'm always happy when he's in the cast.
It's funny, Bergman's character notes to Grant's character that Calhern is a handsome man. An odd comment to make to Cary Grant.
