About 7 or 8 years ago, I began to read and watch online content about Bitcoin. I'm still not smart enough to really understand it, but I do know that when I first started watching, a "bitcoin" was about a $700 value. I suggested to my daughter that she might want to invest in buying one or two. She didn't.
Right now, a bitcoin is valued at around $40,000. Guess I wish she had bought one.
As I said, I don't really understand how it works - but here's a video about what the possibility of it all is.

I posted another video but it was disallowed by the originator.
Too bad, because it was interesting.

While doing our taxes this year I saw that they now have a spot to put "digital assets.". "Digital assets include (but are not limited to): Convertible virtual currency and cryptocurrency Stablecoins, Non-fungible tokens (NFTs)"
A co-worker was big on Dogecoin and saw some results on his investment but ultimately lost money on trading. Im not completely sure how it works but it sounds akin to playing the stock market.

Seems to me the whole point of having bitcoin is to buy one at the current value and then just keep it until it eventually it's worth a million dollars or more. Wish I'd bought one 10 years ago when it was going for about twenty bucks. I'd already be in good shape and would be anticipating being a millionaire sometime in the future.

Bitcoin is but, one of many "coins". It's only worth so much because it was one of the first. There are many, many more coins. They have their own exchange. Most are worth less than a penny. I mean like $ 0.0000003.
It's just another scheme to con people out of their money. No one ever mentions who oversees any of it. What commission ? Who is the chairman ?

I've heard that all other crypto currencies are garbage.
Bitcoin is the only one to own. It will be the only currency left standing.
Even gold will not be as valuable to own as Bitcoin.
Or not. We'll see.

Holy cow! In just the short time it's been since I started this thread, Bitcoin has gone from just under $40,000 per coin to just over $56,000 per coin!
But, according to Mac Keiser, Blackrock is arranging for a collapse.
Fascinating stuff, this Bitcoin narrative.
