I wonder what Sydney Guilaroff first thought at the sight of Norma's hair texture: "My God!"

She's both the rebound girl and the I-married-her-because-I-feel-guilty-of-what-I-did-to-her girl. Not an auspicious start. They're all I can think about now. Did any of you read "The Rules of Civility by Amor Towles? It was a novel with that premise taking place at this time. it was like I was watching it happen for a minute. Yes, I've read everything he's written. He's my favorite modern author. Love his "A Gentleman in Moscow." "Route 66" was really good too.

I hate that they always say "it doesn't mean a thing." It certainly means something to her!

NoShear, I'm only disappointed it isn't bigger. I like about eight inches of hair waving out the back like Mrs. Frankenstein's.

She starts to spend more time with Don than she does with Ted.

My favorite publicity shot of Norma and her hair:

The insincerity of the wanton woman is revealed earlier than I remembered: Jerry is no pre-Code femme fatale!

The stylist finally gave up on her hair and just threw a scarf on her head. Saved an hour in the stylists chair.

I cannot look at all the great clothes and the cool Art Deco style and follow the plot and all the great comments here - my small brain is starting to smoke.

I was wondering about hiding that twirly whirly naughty girl hair - a la if a tree falls in the forest - if we can't see it, are her actions ambiguous?

I have to just listen; otherwise, I can't comment - I just stare, transfixed by her!
