Have you received any copyright notifications before on your YT channel? Or was this the first time it happened? Then you get emails like this...
Hi TCM Intros and Wrap-Ups, Good news! After reviewing your dispute, Warner Bros. Entertainment has decided to release their copyright claim on your YouTube video. Video title: The Wind (1928) - Victor Seastrom's Silent Classic starring Lillian Gish and Lars Hanson Thanks, The YouTube team Interesting. Good news in that case. Is this happening because their legal departments are behind the curve? Now they realize the copyrights have effectively run out?

Interesting. Good news in that case. Is this happening because their legal departments are behind the curve? Now they realize the copyrights have effectively run out? In a way I think it's because every year a new batch of films, etc come into the Public Domain and old rules are in place on YouTube. It's not until they're challenged that they can lift the copyright enforcement.
This one came back in a day's time. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting to hear back from Disney regarding Steamboat Willie!

They just don't want to answer you. Well Disney has 30 days to do so. If they don't the copyright should be lifted.

The guy who uploads the classic British films I watch on YouTube just posted this today, after getting a copyright strike:
You Tube can be a very hostile place, and it isn't just YT's rules and algorithms (which are constantly changing), but also other YouTubers, who, I have discovered file false copyright claims in order to have our channel taken down, unscrupulous people.
I didn't realize that there were false copyright claims occurring.

I didn't realize that there were false copyright claims occurring. Yep. YouTube can be a real cesspool of contemptible behavior.

I just watched it on your channel...so I am guessing it's okay. And then you get the email below and there's not a goddamn thing you can do about it. Two years worth of time and effort totally lost because someone got a bug up their ass and decided after well over a year of things being posted it was time to make a fuss.
All three strikes came with in days of this one another. Rather than ask to pull the offending material down they decided to simply get YouTube to shut the whole thing down. Nearly 5000 videos disappeared today. 5000! You can see at the top of the thread the Mickey Mouse cartoon videos are gone.
The thread about remakes becomes a desolate wasteland of nothingness.
Well, that's life. Guess I'll have a lot of extra time on my hands.

Oh wow, wasn't expecting that to happen...how awful.
I agree, they should have just asked you to remove the clips/videos in question.

So yancey,
Will you attempt to start another YouTube channel a bit later?
I suppose if you just stick to posting the wraparounds, you should be okay...yeah? Those don't seem to be under copyrights.
