The 1968 movie's inspirers and technical consultants, "Red" Adair and fellow firefighters "Boots" Hansen and "Coots" Matthews, may have had to forego the premiere though, as seventeen days earlier a gas blowout occurred off the coast of Victoria, Australia, and the Red Adair Co. had been called in to oversee its overhaul.
