"Turn on my V.C.R. Same one I've had for years James Brown on the T.A.M.I. Show Same tape I've had for years" - Sting
I caught last night's screening of After Hours on TCM and could relate to the young men's style of clothes, if not yuppie ethos, as well as its sixties pine - seen in Los Angeles in the early/mid 1980s and defined by Teri Garr's jerking waitress. A Bad Brains song was a surprise even if its original context was when a close-cropped hair cut would 'do just fine for a punk club.
I have to admit, though, that I can't help but think of woodstock (1970) whenever I see the combo of Schoonmaker and Scorsese in the credits.
