I'm not asking about movie reality. If you're asking below questions while watching a movie, then it must be one boring film.
But I just watched BLOOD ON THE MOON- not a boring film, but I've seen it several times and just not as focused on the story this time. Where did the saddle tramps, gunfighters, drifters, etc, the men without homes, where did these guys keep the heavy winter coat, the rain slicker, the coffee pot and cup, the extra shirt and slacks?
Also was hard tack and dried beef sold in the general stores? Often they cook beans, so there must be a pan somewhere.
In movies they all seem to have a tightly rolled bed roll, so not much was kept there. And rarely are saddle bags shown bulging. They must have carried a few boxes of bullets, especially if they carried gun and rifle.
In reality, where did these men carry all this stuff?

If they were part of a cattle drive, then there would have been a chuckwagon that hauled most of those extra items. If they were working on a huge ranch, then they would have only gone a day or two from the bunkhouse and wouldn't have had to take much with them.
The ones who were professional gamblers would have just gone from town to town and wouldn't have been roughing it out on the land.

What about those loner cowboys? I don't remember which Jimmy Stewart western, he is riding without a loaded down horse, but makes his coffee at his campfire. Same thing in THE SEARCHERS. Where are they carrying those coffee pots?

Where are they carrying those coffee pots? I don't find the loner cowboys to be very realistically portrayed in movies. Most of them find their way into the towns for food and entertainment. They probably carry some small rations on their horse, but not much.
