In the early to mid-1930s, Ann Harding was one of RKO’s top actresses. She was always given the best scripts at the studio, and when she was loaned out, it was usually for lavish productions at MGM or Paramount. There was a casual quality about her, and a calmness in her line deliveries, no matter how severe the circumstances might be which faced the characters she played. Probably her greatest film is DOUBLE HARNESS opposite William Powell. And her work with Richard Dix and Brian Aherne should not be missed either.

I agree with all of those comments ⇧ and would also note the movie, "The Animal Kingdom," as one of hers that I love.

I saw several of her films but not until I saw UNTIL LADIES MEET and IT HAPPENED ON FIFTH AVENUE on the same day, did I learn to appreciate her.

I saw several of her films but not until I saw UNTIL LADIES MEET and IT HAPPENED ON FIFTH AVENUE on the same day, did I learn to appreciate her. Those are both good ones. I really enjoy "When Ladies Meet." There is a good 1941 remake of that one that goes by the same name.
A few other less-well-known, but good Harding pics are "Gallant Lady" and "Biography of a Bachelor Girl."
