"Show his eyes, and grieve his heart..." What would become my favorite Stephen King movie is said to have been released on this day forty years ago:  The 1983 movie includes support from Anthony Zerbe who was also seen onstage at about the same time in the title role of a Macbeth production at the Old Globe in San Diego... The novelty of seeing Anthony "Brother Matthias" Zerbe notwithstanding, I would've preferred to have seen an outsized outdoor rendering of it than the minimalist take it was stingily given.

[Dead Zone] What would become my favorite Stephen King movie Mine too. Saw it 2 or 3 times before I knew it was by King. Started me on a journey of reading many of his books even though I'm not much into the horror genre. Very uneven quality author IMO. |

if stephen king had any ballz he woulda insisted on the creature from the black lagoon being in the miniseries IT. the gill man's appearance in his novel is chilling. it took me over three weeks to read that overlong paperback.
