Fawn: "Did you finally pick up the Necco Wafers? If Andrea likes them, I bet they are good."
Me: "I've told you before, I can't find them in any store."
Fawn: "Is our computer broken?"
Me: "No."
Fawn: "Did the internet stop working?"
Me: "Get to your point."
Fawn: "Can't you just order them from Amazon?"
Me: "The smallest order at Amazon is for 12 rolls."
Fawn: "And?"
Me: "And you are an insanely finicky eater. If you don't like the first one, you'll spit it out, shake your head rapidly as if I was trying to poison you and, then, you will never try another one. Which means I'll have to eat the end of that roll and the other eleven myself and I don't even remember if I like them."
Fawn: "Wow, you can find more ways to get to 'no' than anyone I know."
Me: "Fine, I'll scour the stores one more time and if I don't find them, I'll order the twelve rolls on Amazon."
Fawn: "Well, I'm glad we settled that. Did you at least remember to get us the Snow-Caps for today?"
Me: "Seriously?"
Fawn: "I'm just joshing with you. You did get them, though, right?"
Me: "Sigh."
Fawn: "I brought you the pillow you like" [which the Fawn had just picked up in his mouth, carried over to the sofa and placed right next to himself]
Me: "Thanks." [said as I slide in right next to the Fawn on the sofa, as he moves the bucket of popcorn between us and I open his soda and put a straw in it for him]
Fawn: "Movie's about to start; I'm so excited."
Me: "Me too, Buddy."
P.S. No idea why the font color turned blue toward the end and, I tried, but couldn't get it to turn back to black.

I'm really excited about this one! I've never seen it and I love every single person in the cast.
Gene Tierney!
I may need two rolls of Necco Wafers.

It starts in Greenwich Connecticut in 1844.

Starting with a job offer...I love how Tierney assumes she will be chosen to be Katrine's companion. As if her sisters have no chance.
Vincent Price's character is a patroon.
Patroons are owners of the enormous land grants on the Hudson River.

"Your opinion is of no consequence to us." (or something like that)
Charming.

Gentry in a country where all men are free and equal.
Huston's character does speak sense...though he's incredibly strict, he will be swayed by daughter Tierney.

Gene Tierney was at the peak of her beauty in this film.

He was just afraid his daughter was seeking after flesh pots! I'm enjoying her father!

If he owns the land, there's nothing wrong with renting it out to others to farm. As long as the farmers who work it can leave at will and the rent is set contractually, it sounds no different than renting a farm. But I get from the tone that there's something feudal going on, but it hasn't been explained to us yet.

And we also get the idea that he controls the farmers' politics and who they'll vote for in upcoming elections.

Yes she was and so was Vincent Price. They make a fine looking couple.
