Agree completely, Thaxter is pro through and through; she always gives an honest performance. Off the top of my head, in addition to "The World of Henry Orient" that you mentioned, she's outstanding in "The Breaking Point," (the hurt she shows when hubby Garfield cheats on her is painful to watch), "Blood on the Moon" and, in a small role but outstanding performance, "Act of Violence." She is a favorite.

1. Joan Hackett: Ashamed to say I first heard of her after watching Disney's "Treasure of Matecumbe," but I just watched the Lumet film "The Group" and she was quite good in that. I had never heard of her before a few months ago, but I think we (film fans in general) should talk about her more. She's very good. I also caught her in an original Twilight Zone episode a little while ago. Unfortunately, she passed quite young, and sometimes I think about how many more performances she would have given had she lived. 2. Lee Grant: Unfortunately after the release of 1950's "Detective Story," Grant was black listed by the HUAC and unable to work in the industry for 12 years. Absolute travesty in my opinion, especially because I was so thoroughly impressed with her in "Detective Story."

I've been watching some of the Mexican Spitfire movies...and I think Leon Errol is an underrated performer. He's very inventive as a comedian.
ZaSu Pitts is in two of the films, and she also doesn't get enough credit...she really had a long and distinguished motion picture career.

Watching a season 2 episode of Rawhide from 1960 with special guest star James Dunn. What a great underrated performer. He plays a doctor developing a vaccine for smallpox. The quiet intensity and sincerity he brings to this earnest portrayal is noteworthy. He always believes in the characters he plays, and all his line deliveries are real and convincing. Excellent.
