Hepburn is on fire in this scene. It's particularly funny as the above is her response when she first sees a well-endowed stripper.

Thank you for your words regarding suspenders and side tabs, FadingFast.
Sure, suspenders are attractive, but they are still just one more accessory to buy. I agree that side tabs are wonderful. Best pair of trousers I ever had was a pair of stone-colored linen/cotton with pleats, cuffs, and side tabs with buckles. I wore them slap out.
Now, the only side tabs I own are on the army surplus bdu's I wear to do gardening or other dirty jobs. They are the real deal in the classic US woodland camo. Comfortable, strong, and well-fitting, I've worn them for years and will likely continue to do so for the rest of my life.

Comfortable, strong, and well-fitting, I've worn them for years and will likely continue to do so for the rest of my life. Those linen pants sound fantastic. I have something similar from Ralph Lauren - he does, or did, a lot of his summer linen trousers with side tabs (often with buttons and not the metal cinch doohickey thingy, I bet you know its proper name), but my favorite pair of side-tab pants are a twenty-plus-year-old pair of grey flannels from Brooks Brothers. They are just the perfect pair of grey flannels, a wardrobe must-have.
Of course, I work from home now and, since Covid, all my meeting have moved to Zoom where people wear T-shirts and ask you why you've dressed up if you wear a shirt with a collar - and I work on what is generically called "Wall St."
Effectively, I now curate one of the world's smallest clothing museums of 40 long suits, 15/34 shirts, etc. It's kind of sad, but they all just hang there unused.

With T CM's screening of Apocalypse Now REDUX last week, Fading Fast, I naturally thought of you - berets abound in the 1979 movie, including with the PBR gunner mates:

^ I should've clarified, Fading Fast: The REDUX version - the addition of the French colonial holdouts section includes at least one bereted soldier.

I just posted comments on the outstanding 1957 movie "Until They Sail here:" "Until They Sail"
In it, Jean Simmons (who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite actresses, as if she gives a hoot), rocks the beret look: In a movie full of cool clothes, Simmons also sports this beautiful polo coat (that's Joan Fontaine, to Simmons' left, wearing a bowl on her head):How cool are all these "simple" clothes (I'm picturing a very happy BunnyWhit looking at the below picture): And finally, while I'm usually in the camp of the less Sandra Dee the better, she did a good job in this movie and looked adorable in her baseball cap:

Joan Fontaine rocks that regal simple look! As for Sanda Dee: I've always had a crush on her and believe when given a good part and solid direction she can give a good performance.

Hoot, hoot, FadingFast!
The above picture looks like it just fell out of a 1957 style book. Simmons looks beautiful in her portrait collar blouse; Fontaine looks beyond elegant in her polo sweater; Laurie looks fresh and fun in her peasant blouse; and Dee looks young and flirty in her bib-front blouse.
I was interested to see the striking difference between how Simmons and Fontaine are dressed to look older, more sophisticated, while Laurie and Dee are dressed to look young. At the time of this film, the actresses ages were:
Jean Simmons -- 28 years Joan Fontaine -- 40 years Piper Laurie -- 25 years Sandra Dee --15 years
They all are lovely, but is it my imagination, or is Joan Fontaine at 40 the hottest of the bunch?!

A recent beret sighting for you, Fading Fast: Good beret, thank you. Separately, that is such a heartbreaking scene.

For elegance and timeless beauty: 1. Fontaine 2. Simmons 3. Laurie 4. Dee
For hotness: 1. Simmons 2. Fontaine 3. Laurie (Dee is too young to rank here)

Just rewatched my fav Doris Day film THE GLASS BOTTOM BOAT
Of course the Mata Hari outfit is the famous one.....
....but I was struck by Doris' regular outfits -- cute mid 60s styles!
I noticed they kept dressing her in yellow and white. Is this a reference to her Award Winning/Man Trapping Banana Cream Cake??
And I love the gown worn by Paul Lynde as he goes undercover into "No Man's Land"
