Some trophy. I can't stop thinking of Prince/King Charles - idiot polo player. I am failing to see his charms.

Kenneth Thomson who plays the husband would become a secretary and magazine editor in real life.
Per wiki:
He and his wife "were founding members of the Screen Actors Guild. The group was founded after meetings held at the Thomsons' home during 1933. He was the group's secretary and its magazine's managing editor."

Bar Harbor was an exclusive resort area for the "right" people to "summer in" back in that day.

All these rich people, living the good life. You'd never know a depression was gripping the country! Rich people movies were insanely popular in the Depression. Escapism I guess.

Well I think part of it is that Hollywood was recession and depression proof. So they were making movies about their ritzy lives, not reflecting the lives of their working class ticket buyers in middle America. So it's a lack of realism, plus escapism.

There's a Paramount romcom called TAKE A LETTER DARLING (1942) in which Roz Russell is an executive and Fred MacMurray is her male secretary. So if you like MAN WANTED, check out TAKE A LETTER DARLING.
