Welcome to the forum. Your first TCM movie is a fun pre-code in that it's one that shows a diverse ethnicity in America that would be tamped down greatly on screen with the enforcement of The Motion Picture Production Code the following year. Plus, it's fun to see Ginger Rogers at the start of her career.

Wow. That was so long ago I really can't remember. But I'll bet it was a movie I really liked but haven't seen for years, but seeing it coming on the "new-fangled" TCM channel I made sure to catch it.
