Time permitting, Peebs, I think I'm going to give the thread which you once pointed out to me a shot - Sunday Live: Don't Be So Melodramatic!

Happy Mother's Day, Film Friend!!
Hope you and your family are well, Peebs.
I've been on something of a pLANET of the ApES kick of late - have you seen the latest franchise film yet(??), so... I love the closing scene in ESCAPE from the pLanet of the APES for a combo of Ricardo Montalban's commanding presence and its poignancy - SPOILER ALERT:

Happy Fourth of July, Peebs!!
Caught some of TCM's screening of "A Hard Day's Night" this past Tuesday and thought of you - especially the baccarat scene for an obvious reason.
Hope you and your family are enjoying the day...

For BunnyWhit, cinemaman and you, Peebs...
If I correctly heard of late, Egyptian intelligence took Ian Fleming's stories so seriously that copies of the James Bond novels were bought up in at least one London bookstore by Egyptian operatives for training purposes. Given the brutal notoriety of the Egyptian security service(s), they apparently found CASINO ROYALE especially instructive.
Peebs, 3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR was screened on TCM last night, and I thought of you.

Hi, Peebs -
THE PARALLAX VIEW was on TCM last night, and I thought of you: How's that for conspiracy paranoia taken to the nth degree?
Wonder if you're OK...

Peebs, I caught The Wicker Man last night thanks to your 1973 movies suggestion...
Admittedly, I found the '73 entry to be a glum movie - perhaps a reflection of my disillusionment with Western religion: From my viewpoint, Christianity is portrayed as flaccid hope in the face of flesh.

Peebs, I caught "ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN" last night and thought of you, of course. TCM's screening of the 1976 paranoid politico offering seemed especially relevant this time around in light of both The Washington Post controversy and the election just 11 days from yesterday...

Peebs, an interesting anecdote to "ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN": Lindsay Crouse, who played Kay Eddy, is said to have attended Chapin School during the same period as Julie Nixon (Eisenhower) and possibly at the same time early on when Tricia Nixon (Cox) was a senior student there... Tricia Nixon is seen at the White House Halloween function 55 years ago here and, yes, that's the 'real' Barnabas Collins to her right: Happy Halloween, Peebs!!

Peebs, I remember you telling me that THE WAY WE WERE used to screen on one of your local stations during election nights when you were a kid, and I wonder if you're planning on watching it tonight for old time's sake...
