Rules: give a line or two of a song from a movie and then next person has to give us the title of the song, what movie it's from and who sings it. please wait for confirmation before your turn.
As a Bonus (but definitely NOT REQUIRED) if you happen to know the name of the composer and lyricist then by all means go ahead and name them but ITS NOT REQUIRED. There was a game similar to this over on the TCM boards so if you've played that one, this is basically the simple version of that.

The song is Edelweiss by Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein from The Sound of Music. It was sung by Christopher Plummer, who was dubbed by Bill Lee.

The song is 42nd Street from - what else? - 42nd Street. Written by Al Dubin & Harry Warren, it was sung by both Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler, who also danced to it.
