Great scene where he falls off the cliff and she keeps driving away.
Definition of melodrama.

Doesn't this town have a hospital?
Doesn't Ron have a bedroom?

I like the way Wyman whispers some of her lines, or delivers them in such a low tone. It's an effective trick that causes us to listen to all of what her character is saying.
Like she's deliberately giving a subdued performance, in a highly overwrought romance drama.

She will stay and look after him. And they will be married.
She's back in her opening-scene outfit?
She really needs a new wardrobe for her new life.

Great choice, Topbilled.
Until we watch "Peyton Place," this could be our signature melodrama.

Despite poking fun at some of the hokeyness, I enjoy this film very much. You really do get caught up in the main characters' growing relationship.

She will stay and look after him. And they will be married.
And she will put some food out for the deer while wearing her new casual clothes that show her legs (the prettiest he's ever seen) and they will eventually go upstairs to the bedroom.

In an interview, Douglas Sirk was asked 'why this title.' And he said it's because he felt heaven was stingy and didn't allow people very much happiness in life.
