Fox Movie Channel has been showing Fathom(1967) but it's in pan-and-scan. I keep recording it in case they come to their senses and show the widescreen print I know they have, but so far no luck. But I thought I'd post this for Number One Fan Dan, to go along with the sky diving avatar. Thank you! I have Fathom on DVD. I used to have over a hundred titles on disk but I sold them to a second hand store several years ago - except for a select few, one being Fathom.
My avatar is an illustration of D.B. Cooper, the famed and quite stupid hijacker who signed for his ticket as Dan Cooper, a super hero comic book figure. (The "D.B." came from a reporter who was unable to read his own handwriting and reported the name as D.B. Cooper, which stuck.) I called him stupid because he jumped from a rear entry plane on a rainy night into a forest with the ransom money, wearing a suit and probably Thom McCan loafers, never to be seen again. Some of the cash was found years later by a boy who was fishing a river.

I like that you feel in tune with the guy enough to intuit the Thom McCan loafers. Thanks for sharing. Here's your reward.

I like that you feel in tune with the guy enough to intuit the Thom McCan loafers. Thanks for sharing. Here's your reward. I stole that line from a You Tube lecturer on the Hiss-Chambers case (John Berresford - very entertaining and informative, for those interested) who said he imagined Richard Nixon walking across Whit Chambers' farm, sidestepping cow patties in his Thom McAns (correct spelling) listening to Chambers emote about his morality crisis, wondering where the hell the evidence is. (Something like that.)
We do know Dan Cooper left behind a J.C. Penney necktie, (Edit: a clip-on!) possibly Towncraft. Vintage stuff now. (I wore one that belonged to my grandfather until it finally unraveled with age.) And I think the stewardess did say he was wearing loafers. I give the guy credit for nerve, if not execution.
That yellow bikini fills my room with sunshine! Thanks again.
