Well, as said, "To each their own....". I never did find WILL&GRACE the least bit amusing. A sister in law of mine was crazy about it. I recall a few times my wife and I were at her house for a visit. Then that show would come on and we'd sit there with her to watch it. I never once even cracked a smile. My wife fell asleep. But her sister was rolling on the floor in laughter. Go figure. Sepiatone I'm with you, Sepiatone. Never found W&G remotely funny.

That's a great story. Thanks for sharing.
Will and Grace did return for three revival seasons from 2017-2020, but I prefer the episodes that aired in its original run. One of my favorites is "Will on Ice" from Season 1. It's Will's birthday, and all he wants is for Grace and Jack to get along. Grace and Jack bond over figure skating, and they more or less convince Will to go with them to an ice show on his birthday. Karen also comes along, and she brings champagne. You will enjoy that episode.
I remember reading that some of the cast members did not get along during the later revival years and that's one reason they canceled it. (Thinking it was Messing and the other main actress...)

I've heard that as well. From what I heard, Megan Mullally was the one being difficult. An extremely big deal was made about Mullally missing two episodes of the revival's final season. Not saying Debra Messing was totally blameless, but still.

The Simpson's was renewed through 2025. It will hit 800 episodes with seasons 35 & 36. Good grief. Is anyone still watching this show? I think I stopped watching it at least 15 years ago when it stopped being as funny.

I wonder how much of the original audience still follows it. There probably are a bunch of viewers who've seen it all the way through. Though at this point, it's become a multi-generational favorite.

I've never seen any Simpsons episode, but I'm not a fan of animated shows, so not really surprising.

Maybe it'll take one of the main voice actors to die before they cancel it. Julie Kavner's voice is shredded. I even tried looking up to see if she had throat cancer or somwthing. Nope. It was just doing Marge's voice for over 30 years.
As was pointed out in another thread, The Simpson's have jumped the shark.long ago. Homer has gotten so unbelievably stupid and Lisa is very preachy. I think they dumped Apu over issues with a non-Indian actor doing his voice. It's on Disney + one of the many acquisition of the Mouse.

I've never seen any Simpsons episode, but I'm not a fan of animated shows, so not really surprising. I'm not that big on 'em either, but will look in from time to time. Sure, after so many years THE SIMPSONS couldn't help but get stale. And SOUTH PARK is the only one I'll more frequently watch. I love the idea that there are no "sacred cows" on it. But my second daughter is into all of it. Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, and whatever. Sepiatone

All five seasons of Grace Under Fire are on DVD, the complete set, for 19.99. I am debating buying it. I remember watching this female-centered working class sitcom on occasion in the mid-90s. But I never was a consistent viewer and really have only seen a handful of episodes.
Brett Butler's behind-the-scenes troubles are well-documented. But I do think this show had a talented cast, talented writers and producers, and it was mega popular with audiences the first three seasons.
Though the fourth season is considered to be the season when the quality slid due to a few cast changes, ironically the top three rated episodes on the IMDb are from the fourth season.
The fifth season is the shortest, since ABC swung the axe in February, preventing it from finishing out the rest of the final season. From what I've read, fans think the fifth season rectified some of the mistakes of the fourth season and that the series did manage to end on an up-note.
If I buy the discs, it will be because I am curious about the guest appearance by Diane Ladd who played Grace's mother in one episode as well as the guest appearance by Jean Stapleton who played Grace's aunt in antoher episode. Both those veteran character actresses were Emmy nominated for their guest work on Grace Under Fire.
Anyone a fan of the show? There are 112 episodes.

Another show from the 1990s that I never really watched-- Promised Land starring Gerald McRaney, Wendy Phillips & Celeste Holm-- is also for sale on DVD, rather economically.
It's a spinoff of Touched by an Angel. But unlike the parent series, it wasn't a mega hit, and it only lasted three seasons, producing around 70 episodes from 1996-1999.
Has anyone seen it? Would you recommend it?
