I saw the Bessie Love Barbie doll in the store recently. It's part of "Inspiring Women" Barbie series. One that dolls include: Maya Angelou,Billie Jean King, Jane Goodall, Ida B Wells, Ross Parks, Ella Fitzgerald, Sally Ride, Helen Keller, and Eleanor Roosevelt. These are, I assume, for collectors. I doubt little kids aren't clamoring for Ella Fitzgerald dolls. creations.mattel.com/collections/barbie-inspiring-women-series#?page=1I

Can we bring back the word aviatrix? Lovely! And yes, I think we need to - we are in dire straights up here (no pun intended): A shortage of pilots is making travel chaos in Canada even worse (CBC News Jan 31, 2023)Considering we were recently voted as having the worst airport in the world there is no time to lose. And of course now I somehow end up with this picture clogging up my mind "Keep your G#d D^mn head down, pervert!"

I saw the Bessie Love Barbie doll in the store recently. Drats. I see your typo update. I was about to run out on a mad shopping spree, even though Barbie anything is mildly uncomfortable somehow. But your typo has dropped me down a strange rabbit hole. If there are any Bessie Love experts in the house, please point me in the right direction. I didn't think a Bessie Love Barbie would have been a mistake given I had been lead to believe she was an early female director. The Lost LA short on Lois Weber shows Bessie Love as a Director but I can find no corresponding mention on her imdb, TCM, wiki, etc. I can't find a clip of her This is Your Life appearance. AFI has just launched the Women They Talk About site/research tool but I don't see anything listed. It does sound like a WIP though: AFI Catalog researchers are revisiting records for pre-1930 releases to enhance documentation and add previously uncredited names.Even an utterly charming interview with her in the 70s has no mention from the source - and to top it off they cut the clip before her ukulele playing. Bessie Love might be a top seller with people here but not with the general public.
That photo of Elliot Gould and Telly Savalas reminded me of Fly Away Home. That movie with a young Anna Paquin helping the geese she raised fly south using a ultralight plane to guide them.

Balloon-gate continues unimpeded.... U.S. downs another aerial 'object' over Lake Huron as search continues for wreckage in Yukonwww.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-yukon-object-threat-aviation-1.6745783U.S. and Canadian authorities had restricted some airspace over the lake earlier Sunday as planes scrambled to intercept and try to identify the object. The object was octagonal, with strings hanging off, but had no discernable payload, according to a senior administration official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.I hope Lego Man 2.0 hasn't met with an untimely death

The Great Balloon Caper Day 7Although I think this was from Day 5 File Under: The best diversion I’ve seen lately. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was compelled Monday to publicly say the US has “no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity” tied to the military’s downing three unidentified flying objects over North America.
We were chilling at the high altitude when they shot us down. It's very humiliating for us to go down like that. Never again!!!! Aliens have very soft hands. Do you guys use Aveeno? One normal year is all I'm asking for. Loving all this weird shit starting to feel like I'm actually on a strange planet now what a time to be alive. It will be quite embarrassing for Amazon, when the news gets out that they have been testing their latest delivery drones for remote regions and scared the crap out of the US and Canada. At this point nothing is impossible, 2023 was suppose to be a great year but it’s not doing so well. 100%percent something is happening and I love it I have to get another beer The pilot stated he saw a bright red dome glistening in the moonlight, on close inspection it was Brian Stelter in a hand glider.

The Great Balloon Caper Day 13The prevailing theory among U.S. intelligence officials right now is that the objects were likely privately owned, perhaps linked to academic research, corporate endeavours or even recreational activity.
Well I for one feel much better. If they don’t get this sorted by December, Santa is going to be in serious danger! The map at 0:25 seems to imply that the balloon was carrying a dead horse. If you're thinking about a hot air balloon ride these days, I'd postpone until things settle down. The Goodyear blimp might want to consider counter-measures for tonight's game. Was it shaped like a cashew? I hear flying cashews are quite common. Can't believe this company has been blacklisted. I ordered a massive 'Number 3' for my daughters bday party.Next up: China becomes the world leader in Killer Paper Airplane technology, and resurrects Da Vinci's "flying bicycles" blueprint plans and concepts!
