In some circles, probably true, but IMO he doesn't have the vocal chops for it. Obviously YMMV. He sounds more along the lines of talking than singing. Agreed.
Thought about the wording of my reply last night & was concerned that it could be read as rude. Not at all what I intended. Just meant that I can appreciate that you and others might favor his version while I do not. Different strokes for different folks.
