Woody Allen
Annie Hall Interiors Manhattan Stardust Memories
Could add a couple more, but we're only asked for 4.

No Stanley Kubrick love? He’s not necessarily a favorite and though he didn’t direct many, they were mostly top drawer features - 1956 The Killing 1957 Paths of Glory 1960 Spartacus 1962 Lolita These keep me glued to the screen. In and out with the rest. Last Edit: a few seconds ago by ando

Sidney Lumet had a few really great stretches in his long career of filmmaking. I’d say these are probably the strongest (most affective) four movies in a row: 1962 Long Day's Journey into Night 1964 The Pawnbroker 1964 Fail Safe 1965 The Hill This later run has movies (save the last), though often as serious, with a lot more ironic/sardonic humor: 1974 Murder on the Orient Express 1975 Dog Day Afternoon 1976 Network 1977 Equus
