Pajama Party took a breather from the pool for Donna Loren to do this ode to youth where it could do the most good...at the beach! That's the great Candy Johnson dancing next to her.
And a Candy Johnson workout from Muscle Beach Party (1964). I'm with Buddy Hackett: "What was that?"

Oh dear. Four more great ones ILM. You are playing havoc with my daily download limit.
I had to laugh at BW's sea shanty post a while back. I went down a huge shanty hole compiling my summer playlist. I popped out for a copy of What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor. I came back hours later knowing the reason for the shanty, discovered the Morgan Freeman theory on pirate earrings, cruised with Erol Flynn and his father on the Zaca and enjoyed the rags to riches story of Nathan Evans who posted a shanty on tik tok and ended up with a record deal.

Strange things were happening at Bikini Beach (1964) when The British Invasion arrived in the form of The Potato Bug, actually Frankie Avalon in a dual role. Impressive, right?

A double-necked Danelectro: I say, I Love Melvin, good show!! But where's the amplification emanating from? It's not even plugged in!?!

Little Richard shows the yachting set the proper attire for life at sea in Catalina Caper (1967).
And now for those trusted authorities on surfing, The Supremes, from Beach Ball (1965)....
The lyrics say it all..."The Swim and The Jerk for the swinging crowd".... Pay no attention to the boys in drag.

Little Richard shows the yachting set the proper attire for life at sea in Catalina Caper (1967). Ouch! Another mic drop. My toes have barely recovered from everyone's OTT time change hilarity. Since nobody is going to want to see Mitski poling her punt or Bijou Drains' canoeing prowess after that fabulous gem, I'll take Captain Stubing Eat Your Heart Out for 100 please & thank you. WARNING: Māori dancing missing. Dizziness may ensue for those without the spirit of a sailor. Split Enz : Six Months in a Leaky Boat
