What a brutal end for Dvorak, but she did what she had to do. Some super great filming, too. Good point, I knew it was coming and still found it gripping. Warners, as a studio, was firing on all cylinders with this one.

I know - it's a pretty shocking movie even for a precode. The blatant drug addiction - and her physical decline - are pretty amazing to see.

I know - it's a pretty shocking movie even for a precode. The blatant drug addiction - and her physical decline - are pretty amazing to see. I love how real it feels...but I can see why some need to defer to lighter fare. This was a brutal exploration.
