"The Last DJ" -- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Last DJ (2002) Petty wrote the song with Jim Ladd in mind, who was one of the last freeform djs in the business. Remember when radio was great? *Sigh*

I just want a hit record, yeah Wanna hear it on the radio Want a big hit record, yeah One that everybody's got to know Well if the program director don't pull it It's time to get back the bullet So bring the group down to the station You're gonna be an overnight sensation
John Lennon, a Raspberries fan, particularly liked "Overnight Sensation" and was present for part of the recording of the Starting Over album. Although uncredited, he is said to have assisted with the production of the song.

Remember the days when people walked around with radios, lugged them to the beach, etc.? I deny all knowledge. "I know. Just play along - all hail Malcolm. The Westwood attire is fab however."

Giorgio Moroder -- "Radar Radio"
Released as Side B to Berlin's "Take My Breath Away", which won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. It is my understanding that while this tune appears in the film Top Gun (1986), it does not appear on the soundtrack album.
