Leslie Howard went on to make two more films with Bette Davis-- THE PETRIFIED FOREST and IT'S LOVE I'M AFTER.

"When do you intend to marry me?"
"Right away."
I love the ending.

I'll bet Fawn is crying again. He's a mess. He's mumbling something about wanting to ask Norah to marry him so that she doesn't feel sad anymore. ROTFL!! So inappropriate I know but I can't help it.

"The Petrified Forest" is not only my favorite of the three, but one of my favorite movies overall.

I love the imagery of a little Fawn showing up at Nora's apartment with an engagement ring box. And he could rub his nose against her door!

I love the ending. Yes, it's very nicely done. That doesn't quite look like the RKO backlot, so I wonder what street they filmed it on.

Confession: I (quietly but) happily uttered, "Yea!" when Mildred's hospital chart hit the floor.

Confession: I (quietly but) happily uttered, "Yea!" when Mildred's hospital chart hit the floor. I felt relieved for Phil, who'd suffered long enough.
I am guessing he and Sally raise Mildred's baby..?

I am guessing he and Sally raise Mildred's baby..? The baby died. When Mildred said something to Phil about not saying he was sorry, he told her he was glad. I know he was thinking that a child should not have to endure from her the misery he had.

It would have made sense for it to be a little girl, that Phil and Sally raised and named after Mildred. So in a way she lived on and was always part of Phil's life.
