The Continuing Adventures of Fawn and Me
Me: "Last New Year’s Eve was a disaster."
Fawn: "We had fun."
Me: "We did not have fun. Taking a skittish animal to an insanely crowded place like Times Square because he wanted to see the ball drop - a place where making random loud noises is part of the experience - was not a good idea."
Fawn: "I settled down."
Me: "Twenty blocks later when I finally caught up with you."
Fawn: "I'll be better this year."
Me: "Argh. Let's stay home tonight."
Fawn: "Can we at least stay up and watch the ball drop on TV?"
Me: "Sure. We can even have a late-night snack."
Fawn: "Fun, hey, I'll make my eggnog you love so much." [Fawn ambles off to the kitchen from which loud sounds of cabinets being opened and closed and pots and pans being banged about can then be heard.]
Me: "Sigh. Hey, come out here for a second as we have to say this together."
Fawn and Me: "Happy New Years to all our Sunday Live! friends."
What a nice one. I look forward to these almost as much as the movies we watch!

Imagine getting out of prison for ten days and having Edith Head at your disposal! I watched about thirty minutes of "The Birds" on TCM yesterday and was thinking about how insanely pretty Tippi Hedren's wardrobe was in that movie. It's limited but fantastic and all designed by Edith Head.

These two guys on the train are memorable, if not annoying.
I like how Joseph Cotten registers psychological issues and lack of confidence with shaky hand movements. And occasionally using a quivering voice.

The train scene is well written as if you've ever been on a train where a loud person starts talking to you and all you want it quiet or soft-talking conversation you'll recognize it. It captured the nuance of that situation very well.

She's getting off at Pine Hill...and by some miraculous coincidence, so is he!

I don't know how I'm ever going to get over my crush on Joseph Cotton if this keeps happening.
I am at risk of having my JC Fan Club status revoked. I have never seen this one. Shameful!

I'm loving this one already. The slightly sad tone is so touching.

Oops. Yeah, insert foot moment.
Barbara needs to learn tactful behavior.

I'm loving this one already. The slightly sad tone is so touching. I am still trying to recover from the thought of Ginger in prison.
