I'm fond of a Cary Grant Christmas because:
Love this list! Made me think of other Christmas movie repeaters: …Elsa Lanchester, who is also in a Halloween-Christmas crossover BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE I got ahold of some of that magic summoner, but I don't know whether it works with dead people: Merry Christmas, lonesomepolecat, and to the entire Classicfilmtvradio crew...

You all have mentioned many — no, most! — of the Christmas favorites we watch each year at our house. It’s been fun catching up on this discussion of what is probably my favorite movie genre.
One movie that seems to have gone unmentioned is Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938), which I consider the very best episode of the enjoyable Hardy Family series.
I think Love Finds Andy Hardy is a true Christmas movie, in that much of the plot is driven by the holiday: Andy wants to buy a car to drive his date to the Christmas Eve dance; he needs a date for the dance because girlfriend Polly Benedict (Ann Rutherford) is going to her grandparents’ house for Christmas; Andy ends up asking Cynthia Potter (Lana Turner) to the dance at the urging of his friend Beezy (George Breakston), who can’t take her to the dance himself because he’s also going to visit his grandparents for Christmas; and Betsy Booth (Judy Garland) comes to Carvel to spend Christmas with her grandparents and ends up helping Andy deal with the ensuing complications.
Besides Andy’s Christmas-related issues, we also see the Hardys decorating their Christmas tree and talking about Christmas shopping. All in all, a very Christmassy movie.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
