- Susan Hayward in some movie where she's in jail (not "I WANT TO LIVE", mind you, but an earlier film of hers that I've never seen, but is vaguely remembered by a friend of mine who claims it was either Hayward or maybe even Maureen O' Sullivan, but this shall remain a mystery for another day) - Joanne Dru in some scene where she appears as some floozy sitting at a bar counter conversing with some man (again, don't know the movie it's just a vague recollection; the actress may not be Ms. Dru, but maybe someone like Ruth Roman) Yes, I know it's been quite a long time since I've last been on these boards (I've been VERY busy with work and other projects), but the second film is one I just saw on TCM a few days ago. Since Ruth Roman is the Star of the Month on TCM for November (which is an excellent choice) I've gotten to see some of her films I've never even seen before, such as "JOE MACBETH" and I'm now watching "LOOK IN ANY WINDOW", one I haven't seen in YEARS. I was hoping that second movie might be shown since I was under the impression that the gum-chewing bar counter floozy might be Ruth (or else Joanne Dru), instead it was Yvonne DeCarlo in "DEATH OF A SCOUNDREL", a mid-50s noir also starring George Sanders and Zsa-Zsa Gabor. I haven't seen the entire movie yet. I'm just about half-way through the picture. Yvonne really almost chews her gum (or whatever she's chewing on) in near synchronization with the background jukebox music in the setting. It's no wonder I thought it was Ruth since Yvonne appears to have debuted a new short hairstyle for this film. The slight confusion with Joanne is that both actresses have that "mean" and "fierce" look in their eyes. I've seen both actresses in a few Westerns lately on GRIT-TV, such as Yvonne in "RIVER LADY".

Grit-TV is about the only over-the-air or cable network that shows Universal westerns. Thus, one gets a lot of Audie Murphy, Dan Duryea, Ron Cameron, and DeCarlo.
