Thanks for the interesting information, TopBilled! I still think it's interesting to see Jeanne's transformation from "girl next door" to "sex symbol in the making" - Nevertheless, you could tell both Jane and Jeanne were close friends both on and off the set of "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes", and here's another picture to prove it - Clearly, this was photographed the same time as the picture above (same nightshirts, same short wigs, Jeanne's black wrist sweatband). Incidentally, is it just me, or did Jeanne get her teeth fixed between the 1940s and the mid 1950s? Attachments:

I'm just wondering - Are there any interview segments with either Jane Russell or Jeanne Crain speaking about this movie or about working together? I'd like to hear what they had to say about working on this movie because they really seemed to get together really well on set and in real life. You could just tell by looking at that picture above. (The picture where I couldn't identify Jeanne Crain). I checked Jane's autobiography, Jane Russell: My Path and Detours (1985) and there were only a few mentions of Jeanne and nothing particularly revealing. One thing she did say is that when they were met by the Parisian press, Jeanne had a much better time of it because she spoke French. That may have had a tad bit of shade to it since Jane was generally antipathetic to the press and couldn't have cared less herself, but more likely it was a simple statement of fact. There's a recent biography Mean...Moody...Magnificent. The Making of a Hollywood Legnd (2021) by Christina Rice, but again there were no details about the two women working together, other than the fact that Jane had referred to Jeanne as a "nice girl". Your best source of information might be contemporary press accounts; often reporters were assigned to visit the set while movies were filming and the big gossip columns often repeated (or manufactured) such stories. But since Gentlemen Marry Brunettes was filmed abroad, the American press may not have been a presence.

Jeanne Crain is someone I'd really be interested in seeing on some talk show or else in some press interview footage. I don't know if there's any such evidence in existence, but I'm most certainly willing to see something of the like. I'm guessing she never appeared on "THE TONIGHT SHOW" with either Steve Allen or else Johnny Carson as the host, or "THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW" or even "THE DICK CAVETT SHOW". I know I've seen some footage of Oliver Hardy during some "on-location" interview from perhaps the early 1950s speaking about his longtime relationship with Stan Laurel and even mentioning something about Americans ongoing hunt for uranium at the time. This may have been during some special programming on TCM featuring a batch of newly restored film footage courtesy of the National Film Registry or else ULCA's Film Archives, because I know I've seen this before on TV.
As far as it goes with Jeanne Crain making appearances outside of theatrical films, I distinctly recall seeing her on an episode of "BURKE'S LAW", although this was years ago, and I happen to forget what episode it was and what role she was playing.
On the topic of "GENTLEMEN MARRY BRUNETTES", has this movie ever aired on any other network besides TCM?

Just because I have it here, I'd like to show yet another nice picture of Jane and Jeanne.

TopBilled - I agree! Both Jane Russell and Jeanne Crain seemed to not only have a lot of fun working together on this movie, both both actresses seemed to be loads of fun to work with. I do take a liking to Jeanne Crain in this picture - She not only looks like the cutest thing in the world, but she looks so much like a girl I had a huge crush on in college. Therefore, when I first saw this picture, and hadn't any idea that was actually Jeanne Crain, I was reminded of the girl from my college days. It's no wonder I've developed even more of a crush on Jeanne Crain ever since.

Great photos...looks like they're having fun! Not only do Jeanne and Jane look like they're having fun in these pictures, but they both appeared to be having fun in this movie (based off what little I had seen). Kind of remind me of those "Fun Girls" who flirted with Andy and Barney on "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW".

It's been awhile since I've seen GENTLEMEN MARRY BRUNETTES (1955). Maybe I better take a look at it again!
